  1. History and Culture of Guadalajara and Guadalajara now
    An in depth look at the city of Guadalajara throughout the ages. The importance of the city of Guadalajara and its historical significance are discussed and an overview of Guadalajara and it present trends and future perspectives.

  2. Conocer México
    Mexican culture arose from many different influences. This introduction to an ancient land focuses on both the geography and the people.
    Learning Objectives:
    1. To teach the students about Mexico's topography.
    2. To heighten students' listening skills.
    3. To enhance students' vocabulary skills.

  3. History and Culture of Mexico
    This incredibly diverse, comprehensive introduction - conversation offers an in-depth look at the Mexico of yesterday and today with an enormous variety of spectacular illustrations. Among the topics covered in detail are the Mayans, Mexican pyramids, Mexico in colonial times, and Mexico City.

  4. Princess for a day.
    In Mexico, a girl of fifteen enters adulthood with the full support of family and friends. All aspects of the festive "rite-of-passage" celebration are covered and the various participants are interviewed on this video.
    Learning Objectives:
    1. Students will discover how a girl's fifteenth birthday is celebrated in Mexico, and they will understand the importance of tradition to Mexican people.
    2. Listening skills will be improved.
    3. Students will think about the significance of milestones in a person's life. 24 minutes

  5. Mexican Holidays!
    Get a taste of the richest expressions of Mexico's popular culture and gain an appreciation for the sense of tradition and community that are Experience the fiestas of Mexico: Cinco de Mayo, Day of the Dead, Flag Day, and many more are presented!
    Learning Objectives:
    1. Students will learn about the celebrations of Mexico.
    2. The history of each holiday will be discussed.

  6. La Ley de Herodes
    Mexico, 1949. The fable of a janitor turned Mayor on a little town lost in the Mexican desert, who gradually realizes how far his new acquainted power and corruption can get him. After the corrupt former Mayor is killed by the peasants, poor janitor Juan Vargas is appointed new Mayor of a desert town in central Mexico. Although he tries to bring the motto of the ruling party to town (modernity, peace and progress) he realizes soon that there's nothing to do against corruption... except to become the law and the worst Major in the town's history.

  7. The Aztecs
    This introduction followed by a conversation chronicles the rise and fall of the last great native empire to dominate the central valley of Mexico, that of the Aztecs.
    Learning Objectives:
    1. Students will sharpen listening comprehension skills as they hear the program's Spanish narration.
    2. Students will learn how the Aztec Empire came to be
    3. Students will discover some of the customs and beliefs of the Aztec people.

  8. Let's Visit Mexico
    Go on a tour of the culture and geography of Mexico. Discover details on the population, government, communication and economy through photographs. Narration in Spanish or in English. Travel from Mexico City to Acapulco, tour Taxco, Cuernavaca, Teotihuacan, ChichenItza, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara.

  9. Celebrating the Day of the Dead
    The Day of the Dead is a serious affair in Mexico, where relatives take the time to remember and honor deceased loved ones. We will tell you all about the holiday.
    Learning Objectives:
    1. Rituals and customs involved in the Day of the Dead will be explained.
    2. Handicrafts of Mexico that are created to celebrate the Day of the Dead will be shown.
    3. Students will get background information about the history and the origins of the Day of the Dead.
