Why TEFL Courses in Boston, USA

Do you want to travel? Why not teach English abroad? In many parts of the globe, positions for trained ESL teachers are plentiful. You can learn to teach English abroad and earn a TEFL certificate at Our Partner School in our full- or part-time ESL teacher training course in Boston.

Located in Boston's sophisticated Back Bay neighborhood, Our Partner School is accredited by the American Council of Continuing Education (ACCET). We offer full- and part-time courses designed to enable those without formal ESL teaching experience or training to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in as few as four weeks. In that time we teach you the theory and basics of teaching English and direct you to your first teaching position overseas: We show you where the jobs are and how to get them.

Our Partner School’s curriculum was designed by Master-level ESL teachers with years of classroom experience.

We provide trainees:

Practical techniques for developing a good classroom atmosphere and teaching the four basic skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In addition, the course also includes a review of basic grammatical terms and practical grammar teaching techniques. We include not only good ice-breaking activities, but also many different communicative educational activities that can be used in the classroom to facilitate learning.

Extensive experience in classroom observation. Next to teaching, observing teachers is the best way for anyone to learn to teach. All Our Partner School's students observe select ESL classes at affiliated schools.

Practice preparing lessons. Trainers teach Our Partner School's students to prepare and revise lessons according to the needs of the ESL classes.

Teaching experience. Trainees in Our Partner School's Certificate Program begin peer teaching in the second day of class. By the completion of the course, students teach actual ESL students, using lesson their own plans.

Information about how to find the best teaching resources you will need in your future teaching career.

Training in preparing your resume and finding a great teaching position in the U.S. or overseas .

All trainees at Our Partner School have an opportunity to teach ESL students from all over the world. You will have an opportunity to observe actual on-going classes and to teach real students using the educational theories and techniques you learn in class.

Our Partner School's teachers are splendid. In addition to having Masters degrees in teaching English as a Second Language and/or years of English teaching experience, many of our core teachers have had experience teaching abroad.

Our Partner School is in Boston, MA, "the education capital of the world". Every year thousands of students and young professionals from all over the world come to Boston. The city is also an exciting, up to date center for art, culture, and entertainment, not to mention full of history.

Our Partner School provides you with an opportunity to earn a TEFL Certificate in one of Boston's most beautiful districts. Located on the secure and posh Boylston Street in Boston's historic Back Bay, we are just minutes away from Harvard Square and many area universities including Harvard and MIT. Boylston and Newbury Streets are home to clothing stores, book stores, art galleries, and restaurants, as well as extraordinarily intelligent students and professionals from all over the world.

Our Partner School offers extensive help to students in finding teaching jobs overseas. We assist you in tailoring your resume to teaching so that you look your most attractive to potential employers. We also help students to conduct internet research and to assess the quality of jobs currently listed. We offer free workshops during which students participate in videotaped mock interviews which are reviewed and critiqued with your peers. Finally, our affiliate receives job postings from overseas on a regular basis and makes these available to graduates. Your certificate from Our Partner School qualifies you to apply for many of the positions listed in our resource library.

"Our TEFL instructors were of the highest caliber. The course taught me so much in four weeks that it is difficult to believe. Among other things, I gained invaluable experience in isolating my objectives, putting together and teaching from a lesson plan. The course also showed me some valuable tools for finding a good job. An outstanding value." Mary Pope, interest group leader, Harvard Neighbors, Harvard University
